ThriftCon
White 1980s Sex Pistols Cutoff T-Shirt (M/L)
DESCRIPTION
‘Anarchy in the UK’ was released as the band's debut single on 26 November 1976 and was later featured on their album Never Mind the Bollocks, Here's the Sex Pistols. The single was the only Sex Pistols recording released by EMI, and reached number 38 on the UK Singles Chart before EMI dropped the group on 6 January 1977, a month after members of the band used profanity during a live television broadcast. Much of the Sex Pistols more sought after, early merchandise was created by now iconic designer Vivienne Westwood. Westwood was in a relationship with the band’s manager Malcolm McClaren and Westwood was creating unique, often 1 of 1 pieces for McClaren’s boutique ‘SEX’. This cutoff, in the same style as Westwood’s, is a byproduct of the timeless branding that she created surrounding the punk band.
